Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 September 2026

This site (gipyeong-lee.github.io, “the site”) is a personal tech blog hosted on GitHub Pages. It has no sign-up or login and never asks you to enter personal data such as your name or email address. The third-party services below may still collect information through cookies and device identifiers; this page explains what they collect and the choices you have.

1. What is collected and why

Service Data Purpose
GitHub Pages (hosting) IP address, access logs Serving pages, security (GitHub privacy statement)
Google Analytics 4 Cookies (_ga and others), browser and device information, pages viewed, referrer, approximate location Visitor statistics, improving content
Google AdSense Advertising cookies (__gads, __gpi and others), advertising identifiers, inferred interests Serving and measuring ads; personalised ads only with your consent
Disqus (comments) Account details and cookies when you comment Comment feature (Disqus privacy policy)
YouTube embeds Google cookies when a video is played Video playback

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google’s consent management platform (a CMP registered with the IAB TCF v2.2) shows a consent dialog on your first visit.

  • No ad request is sent before you make a choice, and Google Analytics runs without cookies until then (Google Consent Mode).
  • Consenting to “Store and/or access information on a device” (TCF Purpose 1) in that dialog is treated as consent to Google Analytics’ analytics cookies as well as to advertising cookies.
  • You can decline without losing access to the site; you may then see limited ads instead of personalised ones.
  • You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Elsewhere, cookies may be used without a consent dialog. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

3. How Google and its advertising partners use data

Google and its advertising partners use the data above to serve and measure ads. The list of partners is available under “List of partners” in the consent dialog.

4. Retention

  • Google Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months under the property’s data-retention setting, then deleted.
  • Cookies stay in your browser until they expire (_ga up to 2 years, AdSense advertising cookies up to 13 months). You can delete them at any time.
  • Access logs follow GitHub’s retention policy.

5. Your rights

Residents of the EEA and the UK have the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
