When opposing a presented proposal, it is very rare for someone to do so after careful thought and based on solid grounds. Most people oppose it due to a backlash against the presenter's attitude, tone of voice, personality, or atmosphere. Once you realize this fact, you naturally learn how to win most people over to your side. There is certainly a need to struggle with methods of expression, persuasion, and the technical aspects of speaking. However, there are things that techniques cannot reach; ultimately, it is the personality, appearance, character, and lifestyle of the person speaking that have the greatest influence.
- Excerpt from Nietzsche's Words -
Thinking about it quietly, I, too, have not been able to escape this way of thinking. Furthermore, if my conduct and attitude were not upright when viewed from this perspective, it seems that no matter what I said, no matter how good a proposal I made, that person would not accept it. Even if my usual conduct was good, if the attitude, tone, or personality at the very moment of speaking were expressed in a way that gave the other person a sense of rejection, the results were not good.
I will try to think more from the other person's point of view and speak calmly. I am gradually feeling that showing things slowly through actions is a more correct choice than letting my will and heart rush ahead. It seems that a single sincere action can express who I am better than a hundred sincere words.
