[Nietzsche] Constantly Renew Yourself

What you once thought was an absolute truth in the past is now considered wrong. You may find that what you once held as your firm conviction might not be true anymore. Do not simply bury that change by blaming it on your youth, lack of depth, or ignorance of the world. It was because you needed to think and feel that way at that time. At your level then, that was the truth and your creed. Humans always shed their skin and become new. And they are always moving toward a new life. Therefore, it is just that what was necessary in the past has become unnecessary now. Thus, criticizing yourself and listening to the criticisms of others is no different from shedding your own skin. It is a transformation to become a much newer version of yourself.

- Excerpt from 'The Words of Nietzsche' -

Lately, my values and the things I considered important are all changing. I am realizing that the creed I held, that truth, was not actually true. The truth that answered my questions in the past no longer does so.

When dealing with people, I used to focus particularly on sincerity. However, lately, rather than looking for the sincerity of that person, I observe how they treat me and accept that appearance as exactly what they want to show me. Even if it is hypocrisy, if I quietly think about the reason why they are showing me such hypocrisy, I can understand it by saying, "It's because they want to maintain a smooth relationship with me." And if I truly dislike them, and if my environment allows me to escape, perhaps I would make a decision about that hypocrisy. However, even if I dislike it now, if all the circumstances I am in do not give me room, I must accept the appearance they want to show me. You cannot live in this world alone. It is fine to peek at a person's sincerity, but there is no need to prove it. Because what I truly want is 'my own satisfaction.' If my heart is fine, then it is fine. Human relationships are endlessly difficult if you think about them in a complicated way. People are not machines; they have emotions, so this is inevitable. Therefore, rather than trying to understand the hearts of others, if I clarify what I want from the actions of others, it will be a great help in managing the pain, sadness, and anger that reside within me. Instead of focusing on others, let's focus on myself. On what I truly want.

You must not only criticize yourself and others. If you listen to that series of processes, it will become an opportunity to shed your own skin.
